Docs
How to set up documentation, a community and a blog on your own domain with Forumulate.
The words these guides use
One word per thing, so a search for it finds the right page. A customer read three words for one idea across these guides and asked which was which, which is a fair complaint about documentation.
Reader — anybody reading a published surface. Your docs, your blog, your forum. Signed in or not, with an account or without one.
Member — somebody with an account in your organization, holding a role. A member is invited and counts against your plan; a reader is neither.
Studio — editing on the page itself: double-click a block and change it where it is published.
Console — the administrative app at
/o/<org-id>/…: members, roles, settings, billing, domains.Space — one surface of one kind: a documentation space, a forum, a blog. A site publishes several spaces on one domain.
The full list, including the words we deliberately do not use, is in the words we use. Where this page and that one differ, that one is right.
