Halcyon Pulse now reads recovery, not just effort
A new Recovery score on Halcyon Pulse blends overnight heart-rate variability, sleep and training load into a single number you can plan your day around.
For years, activity trackers have told people how hard they worked. Recovery tells them how ready they are to work again.
How Recovery is calculated
Each night Pulse samples heart-rate variability thousands of times, compares it with your personal baseline over the past 60 days, and weighs it against how much sleep you got and how strenuous yesterday was.
Ready — your body has bounced back; a hard session is a good idea.
Steady — keep training, but leave the personal best for another day.
Rest — a walk, a stretch, an early night.
“We tested Recovery with 4,000 runners over a full marathon season. The ones who followed it reported fewer injuries and faster finishes.” — Dr. Amara Okafor, Health Research
Privacy by design
Recovery is computed on the watch. The underlying readings never leave your device unless you choose to share them with a coach or physician.
Availability
Recovery arrives with Pulse OS 12, a free update for Pulse Series 6 and later, next month.
