Halcyon opens its first riverside store in Lisbon
Halcyon Ribeira opens Saturday on the Tagus waterfront, with a public stage, a repair studio and free creative sessions every day.
The store occupies a restored customs warehouse whose original stone arches now frame the river. Inside, a grove of olive trees shades a forum where local artists will lead daily sessions in photography, music and code.
A store that gives back to the street
The ground floor stays open to the public as a covered walkway, even when the store is closed. Benches, shade and free charging points line the route along the water.
“We wanted the building to feel like part of the riverfront, not a box placed on top of it.” — Rui Antunes, head of Retail Design
Sessions at Halcyon
More than 40 free sessions a week will run in Portuguese and English, including a new series, Lisboa em Movimento, where participants film short documentaries about their neighbourhoods.
