Replace a content library’s manual redirects
PUT
https://forumulate.com/api /orgs/{orgId}/content/libraries/{libraryId}/redirects The body is the manual rules. Automatic (auto: true) rules are kept unless a rule in the body claims the same from; a rule sent back exactly as read keeps its auto mark. Self-redirects, cycles and two rules competing for one path are refused.
Requires token scope: write (the coarse method gate) for Atlas key (ak_), Personal Access Token (cft_) or OAuth (cfo_) auth — in addition to any catalog scope (GET /pats/scopes) the route’s capability needs. Session/cookie auth is governed by RBAC capabilities instead.
Parameters
orgIdstringpathrequiredlibraryIdstringpathrequiredforumulate-versionstringheaderAPI version negotiation. Send
forumulate-version: 2026-12-01 on every request from a new integration; it is optional only so that integrations written before versioning keep working. Each version includes everything before it:Idempotency-KeystringheaderMakes this write safe to retry. Optional — send any unique string (a UUID is ideal) and the first request runs while its response is remembered under that key for 24 hours; an identical retry replays that same status and body instead of acting twice, so a timeout or a 5xx from the edge can be retried without creating a second row. A retry sent while the first request is still in flight is refused with
409. The key is scoped to the method and path, so the same key on a different endpoint is a different request. Error responses of 5xx are never cached — those retries re-run. A key is bound to the BODY it was first used with: reusing it with a different body is a 409 idempotency.key_reused, not a replay, because replaying would tell you a write landed that never ran. Generate one key per request, never per process or per session.Request body application/json
redirectsobject[]requiredThe whole table, replacing what is stored — except the rules the platform wrote itself when a page or a collection was renamed, which are kept unless your list claims the same
from. Renaming a collection moves one address — its hub, /c/<slug> — and we write that rule for you; the pages filed under it are addressed by their own slug within the space and do not move.Show child parameters
fromstringrequiredThe path to redirect FROM, relative to the space’s mount. A trailing
* matches everything below it: /old/* matches /old/a and /old/a/b. The longest matching wildcard wins, and an exact rule always beats a wildcard.tostringrequiredWhere to send it: a bare path (relative to this space’s mount) or an absolute
https:// URL, which means exactly what it says. A trailing * here carries the part the from wildcard matched — /old/* → /new/* sends /old/a/b to /new/a/b; without it, every match lands on the one address.typestringredirect (the default) sends the reader to to. rewrite serves to at the address that was asked for, without changing the URL. A rewrite names a path of this same space — an absolute to is refused, because a rewrite is not a proxy.statusnumberThe redirect’s HTTP status: 301, 302, 307 or 308. Default 308 (permanent, keeps the method). Not allowed on a rewrite, which answers whatever
to answers.matchobjectShow child parameters
querystring | objectQuery-string conditions. A map of key → exact value: every listed pair must be present for the rule to match (other keys are allowed).
"ignore" — the default — matches whatever the query is. Among rules with the same from, the one with more conditions is tried first.passQuerybooleantrue carries the incoming query string to the target (merged under any query the target already has); false drops it. Unset keeps it on a same-host redirect and drops it on an off-site one. A rewrite always keeps it.{
