Tables and data

Tables in Basalt are ordinary Postgres tables. Create them from the Table editor, the SQL editor, or a migration.

Create a table

create table projects (
  id uuid primary key default gen_random_uuid(),
  name text not null,
  owner_id uuid references auth.users not null,
  created_at timestamptz default now()
);

Import data

CSV
pg_dump

In the Table editor, choose Insert → Import data from CSV. Files up to 100 MB import in the browser.

pg_dump --no-owner --no-acl "$OLD_DATABASE_URL" | psql "$BASALT_DATABASE_URL"

Use	Type	Avoid
Identifiers	`uuid` or `bigint identity`	`serial`
Money	`numeric(12,2)`	`float`
Timestamps	`timestamptz`	`timestamp`
Flexible data	`jsonb`	`json`
