Unattended access lets you connect to a machine when nobody is sitting at it — your home desktop, an office workstation, a server in the closet.

Set an unattended password

On the host, open Settings → Unattended access and set a password. From then on, a controller that enters the address plus this password connects without an approval prompt.

Treat this password like any other credential:

  • Make it long and unique to this machine.

  • Change it if you ever share access temporarily.

  • Pair it with an allow-list so only your own accounts can connect at all.

Keep the computer reachable

By default the host is reachable while the GaiaDesk app is open. To keep a machine available after a reboot or sign-out, enable Run GaiaDesk at login under Settings → Unattended service. It runs quietly in the background and re-registers itself whenever the network drops.

Reboot and reconnect

You can restart the host mid-session from the controller's Actions → Restart host. GaiaDesk expects the disconnect, waits for the machine to come back, and auto-rejoins with the same address and code — so a remote reboot doesn't end your session.
