I built a recipe app that reads your fridge — feedback welcome

The confidence trick is clever. Does it ever drop things you actually have?

Sometimes — mostly things in opaque containers. I added a 'add missing item' button and people use it a lot.

Love this. Sending it to my flatmates, who own nothing but condiments.

Installed. It correctly identified 'sad lettuce'. Ten out of ten.

Point the camera at your fridge, it lists what it sees, and suggests three dinners. Built with Halo 2 vision and about 600 lines of Swift.

What I learned:

• Asking the model to list items with confidence (high / low) and only using high ones removed most of the "you have a pineapple" hallucinations.

• Cropping to the shelves before upload halved the cost.
