Nice, but I can not believe you led with the map while the most important feature, local voice, is hidden so far down the page. Just being able to ask and get whatever you want done in your home is huge.
That said, the new editor is great.
Local voice on a satellite this cheap is the headline for me. Running it on two rooms since the beta, the wake word is noticeably better than 2026.9.

It is powerful indeed, but it is not new: it has been there since last year. It just has a much nicer interface now.
Ah. It is unfortunately still not as powerful as I expected then: no dashboard editing, no history lookups. Being able to ask "how warm was the bedroom last night" would be the killer feature.
The area map is gorgeous. I redrew our flat in about ten minutes and the dashboard picked up every room automatically.
Upgraded from 2026.8, two integrations needed re-authenticating (the weather one and my inverter), everything else just worked. Backup restore test passed too.
Is anyone else seeing the device health table load slowly? Around 300 devices here and it takes about eight seconds to render.
it takes about eight seconds to render
Yes, that is a known one with large installs. A fix is already merged for 2026.10.1, should be out this week.
The live trace beside the automation editor is the best thing that has happened to debugging since traces themselves. Thank you!
Love it. Small request: can the area map show sensor values directly on the rooms? Temperature per room on the plan would be perfect for a wall tablet.
can the area map show sensor values directly on the rooms?
You can already do that with the new map card, add the sensors as badges and set their position to the room. I will write a short guide this weekend.
Upgraded on a Pi 4, took about six minutes, no issues. The new editor is much faster on the tablet too.
Energy dashboard now shows the battery state of charge next to the flows. Small change, big difference. Thanks to whoever did that.
Can anyone confirm the voice satellite works with the older 2024 microphone boards? I have three lying around.
works with the older 2024 microphone boards
It does. You need to flash the 2026.10 firmware first, then it shows up under Voice → Satellites. Wake word works, the LED ring does not yet.
First release in a long time where nothing broke for me. Well done everyone.
The floor plan import from an SVG is a lovely touch. Our architect's drawing went straight in.
Great to see all the feedback. Please open separate topics for specific problems so this thread stays readable. Thanks!
October is here and so is a release we have been working towards all year: maps that know where you are, a rebuilt automation editor and fully local voice on cheap hardware.
Area maps. Draw your floor plan once and every card, automation and voice command can use it.
The new automation editor. Triggers, conditions and actions in one column, with a live trace beside them.
Local voice on a 15 € satellite. Wake word and speech run on your own server.
Device health shows battery, signal and last-seen for every device in one table.
As always, back up before you upgrade. Happy automating!
