Text property switches the text style when swapping variants

Question

I have a component with two variants (large and small). A quote box has a text property applied, so when I change the copy it stays the same when I switch between variants — but the text style also jumps to the other variant's style, even after I've overridden it.
Steps:
Create a component set with two variants, each with a different text style.
Add a text property to the text layer.
In an instance, override the text style, then switch variant.
Expected: my override stays. Actual: it resets.

Can reproduce. I think overrides on a property-bound layer are dropped on swap by design, but the style override shouldn't be.
