Since last week's update, the code panel in Sketchpad is read-only unless you prompt. For tiny changes — a typo, a padding value — prompting is slower and costs credits.
Please bring back direct editing, even behind a toggle.

Agreed. A toggle would keep both camps happy.
Heard, and passed to the team with this thread linked. Direct editing is coming back behind a setting — no date yet, but it is being worked on.
