- Smart plug with energy metering that is not cloud-only?
Looking for a smart plug with power metering that works fully locally. Prefer Zigbee or Matter-over-Thread. What do you use?

- Guide: Backups you can actually restore

- Fully local e-paper room displays for under 20 € each
Built two of these last weekend. My kids now check the hallway one before deciding whether they need a jacket.

Yes, it draws about 10 µA asleep. The e-paper keeps the image with no power at all.

- Zigbee devices drop off every night around 3 am
Check if your backup runs at 3 am. A full backup on a small machine can starve the Zigbee add-on long enough for devices to time out.
