The Pip T2 is a full-size pickup squeezed into a city car

A week with the strangest electric vehicle on sale: a two-seat truck that parks like a hatchback and hauls like something twice its size.
The first thing everyone asks is whether it is a toy. It is not. The Pip T2 has a five-foot bed, a 1,200-pound payload and a turning circle tighter than most sedans.
Design
From the side it looks like someone took a regular pickup and removed the middle. The cab is upright and glassy, and the bed starts almost immediately behind your shoulders.

Range and charging
We averaged 212 miles across a week of mixed driving, slightly under the rated figure, with the bed loaded on two of those days.
Test | Result |
|---|---|
Highway, 70 mph | 188 mi |
City loop | 241 mi |
10–80% DC charge | 31 min |
The verdict
It is the first electric truck that makes more sense in a city than out of one.
Score: 8/10. Good: parks anywhere, real bed, quick charging. Bad: two seats only, firm ride, the infotainment screen is slow to wake.
